Over The hedge | I am an animated freak! Sharks Tale,
Madagscar, Ice Age 1 and 2, I've seen them all. I even know every single word in the Lion King Movie.Every time there are new animated films
I am the first in line, even though my friends make fun of my true passion. Over The Hedge was no exception, but this time i decided to take
some kids along, knowing they would enjoy it as much as i do.
The Plot: The movie contains a racoon named RJ(voiced by the great Bruce Willis), that's trying to fool the forest animals. They all need food, but RJ secretely
wants to steel the food in order repay a debt. Rj learns family values, something he never had before.
After the hybernating season is over, and spring has arrived Verne and his woodland friends awaken
in their natural habitat, only to find an unfamiliar "thing"(hedge) they named Steve (as this made it seem less frightening)
invading their territory. RJ then explains to the frightening creature and announces that beyond the hedge
lies the "the gateway to the |
good life" where peculiar creatures called humans live to eat, rather than
eat to live."For humans," RJ proclaims, "enough is never enough." Verne (voiced by Gary Shandling) is protective of his
family, so does not find RJ's offer very appealing. The manipulative RJ gets his way by convining the creatures that
there is nothing to fear as humans garbage is an animals treasure. Worrying about the number of days till winter, they are
desperately in need of food quick, and time is running out. RJ gets his way and they are on their way to embark
on this journey by crossing over into the human world.
My thoughts I thought this movie was great! The animations were
amazing, but that came to me as no suprise, I expected nothing less from Dreamworks. Some say once you've seen one you've seen them
all but it's not true. There are definately some unforgettable moments such as
RJ: That is an S.U.V; Humans ride in then because they are slowly losing their ability to walk
Lew the Porcupine: Wow it's huge!
Hammy the Squirrel: How many people fit in there?
RJ: Normally, about one.
Hammy the Squirrel: Wanna help me find my nuts?
RJ: Very tempting, Hammy, very tempting...
Now going to see this movie with kids, once they hear that line, they are on the floor laughing.Which obviousely makes it more enjoyable,
watching their face light up.There are many more alike and it's jsut great. Very enjoyable for all ages, i highly recommend it.
